87' 535is gauges

my '87 535is's gauge cluster in the dash has a tendency to occasionaly stops working, certains will go out and other will remain fine the only one that does do this is the speedometer, but the rpm,fuel,and oil temp on go out or sometimes dont even work. any advice would be great.
