When turning under stress or in place, etc. theres a creaking or even poping sound coming from the steering. Could it be the rack and pinion? Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Alright, I took a video with audio so you can SEE and HEAR exactly what is happening. Take a look!!! :-)http://www.chriskeith.net/steering_creak.avi (http://www.chriskeith.net/steering_creak.avi)

I had the same thing happen to my 90' accord a while back. If I remember correctly it was the "Universal C.V. Joint". I ended up having a local import shop fix it for me because I didn't have any time to work on it myself. I think it cost just shy of $100 to fix. Hope this helps!

P.S. A Hayes auto manual would prolly tell you how to fix it were you so inclined as to fix it yourself.

did you ever fix your steering problem? I have the same problem on my 91 accord. Can you tell me what you found to be the problem?

Thanks
