I posted a question the other day about my tail light. I found out why it wouldn't work, but now I need to know how to fix it. The bulb has a plastic base with 2 metal strips.. (Dunno the tech. name) ... on each side. One of the metal strips was buried into the plastic because it melted and kinda swallowed it. I replaced the bulb and it's working for the moment.
Is my socket bad? If so, how do I replace it?

Cut it off and replace it with a new one. Go to a junkyard and find a used one or go to the parts store.
