passanger and driver seats interchangable

I'm wondering if the drivers seat and the passanger seat are interchangable on my '89 CRX. I wouldn't mind switching them before the left-hand bolster on the drivers seat starts to rip. I know the recline handle and the for/aft adjustment will be on the opposite sides, but is there any other reason I couldn't just unbolt them, switch them, and bolt them back down? Are the seat tracks side-specific?

The mounting holes are different on each side of the seats. It will not be possible to swap pass for drivers seat and vise versa. Sorry. If you have Si seats they are worth getting redone with new material. Or pull them out and sell them on Ebay they will get you big $$ if there in good condition. Then you could buy some racing seats or something but any seat other then the 89 rex seats are going to need some custom mounting and to do it right you will need to weld up brackets.

Yeah he's right, the inside back mounts are higher than the outside back mounts, so it wont work. You might be able to remove the tracks and switch the seat but leave the tracks on the same side, but I'm not sure on that, but I can go look and when I go to the shop, have the set I took out of my car that I can look at real qick

Nope, switching the tracks will not work either, it would make them lean in tward the middle because there differnt heights.

You can't, I've tried that with the seat pan swap along time ago. Between the top and bottom part there is a hinge that is either on the left side or right side and would be the opposite for the other seat too. The only way you could do that would do the seat pan swap and then cut a little hole on the opposite side so the new hinge could go through. It can be done but it's time consuming. I gave up really.
