Hey everybody! I know I hardly post many progress threads, but I figured with all the muscle floating around, I'll post some pics up of my latest project. Recently, my hp camera sufferd a fall to the floor breaking into millions of pieces. (more like 20) So, I bought this cheap ass walmart digi cam for like 35$ or something. I know the pics suck, but bear wiht me. The car is a 70' Super Bee Pro street. I'm building it with the what if? theme. It has the DOHC hemi 426 with tunnel ram intake, headers(undecided color), and some other cool stuff I don't feel like typing. Paint will be duplicolor toyota medium red pearl over aluminum. Enjoy, and post some positive feedback.

Fitting the 426 DOHC HEMI into it's new home. Tight fit, need to trim alternator to fit it in the frame rails. I remade the alternator belt for a bottom mount so you can see the cam gears.

Quick mock up
I know the ride height is a little high. I'm tired of seeing muscle cars slammed to their frames, it's like putting a civic on hydraulics. Seems cool, but it just isn't what it's meant to live up to.
Here are some wing choices. I want this car to portray something you'd see on the streets in the mid-late 70's with the DOHC hemi had it come into production. Yet I also want it to run the streets at night screaming up to and past 145mph. So, it needs a wing! :lol2:
ITR wing-pic too blurry
GSR wing-pic too blury
Drag wing. If I use this, I'll build 2-3mm struts to sit on, and move it further back by 1-2mm.

One last blurry pic for you to squint at...lol

I'm not going to post because I don't have anything positive to say...
Just kidding. Looks sick. I don't think it's too high at all, in fact I think it looks perfectly. That's going to be a killer machine. I don't think any of those wings suit it, though I have no idea what to suggest in their place. Great paint work so far, especially on the motor. Paint the headers some heat resisting ceramic coated white - they look fantastic in the pic that color! Cool work.

YEs, the kit is an AMT/ertl RC champions 70' pro street super bee.
I don't know about the wings either, but before paint, a wing will be decided upon. I'll have the headers on later tonight. Thanks for watching.

I agree, it has a nice shape without any wing on it.

I would not use a wing either!! Great progress so far!! I really do like the hood scoop!!!!! I knew this guy, with a sister, who had a cousin, who's brother, had a scoop like that!!

I think it'd look fine without a wing, those old cars had so much character on their own. And the ride height is perfect, are you going to have the rear tubs exposed? Have you thought about a roll cage?
