I don't even need to do burnouts to blow my tranny!

Yep, the damn transmission I just put in sounded like it blew apart on the way home from bowling tonight. It's too dark to see what exatcly happend, but it won't go in any gear and when it moves a whole bunch of grinding/sraping/banging comes from the tranny area. Weee, looks like I get my b16 sooner than I thought.



Now I just need the money...

Yea ive did that a few times about 6 mths ago i was in my brothers 91 integra backed up out of a friends house put it in 1st gear let the clutch out slow and pop the tranny just busted underneath by the shift linkage fluid and gears went everywhere did it twice in my delsol tough but it happened while i was driving it about 60 mph something would make the loudest pop and felt like the motor fell out of the car next thing you know i have no gears at all but the caseing wasnt busted on either of them i know one of the trannies 3rd busted and i guess it caught them all up i dont know..Sorry to hear about your luck tough hope you find a good cheap tranny and get that rex running again.

well, hopefully i can go get my money back for the tranny, I paid $300-it didn't last a month, could put it towards the b16 swap, i have a guy down here that can get everything for $1200. It'd be nice if I can get it done within the next 2 weeks.

Mine grinds going into reverse and sometimes hard to get into 4th..I hope it holds out alittle longer ;;crosses fingers;;

Hmmmm sounds like what happened to me. Could be you broke the axle. Thats exactly the sound I heard when my axle snapped. couldnt get it into gear and a whole bunch of clunking and grinding.

maybe you broke the shift fork?

it does kinda sound like my axle broke, but I have yet had time to get it up to take a look at it...I just think if it was the axle, that the shifting wouldn't be hard and getting in to gears going all crazy and shit wouldn't be some of the symtoms.

are you sure a spring didnt blow out in your clutch? did you try starting the car in gear and seeing if it moves? i have a problem once a spring blew out of my clutch and i couldnt shift or anything.

just a though, it might now be as bad as you think, unless you got an automatic :uhoh:

What engine did you have in there? I have an SI tranny which you could basically have. It grinds, I'm not looking to get much for it, I live in SW MI. PM me if you're interested

it sure does. now my mom's going psyco on my sister for getting a dirtbike saying she's going to kill herself on it and shit, and now my mom is going to tell her to sell it or she's going to kick her out and pretty much disown her!

Heh, my parents won't let me get a motorcycle. Or a car with a V8. They say my Civic lets me go to fast as it is. I tell them "It's not fast, it's only a 4 cylinder!" :smile:

yea i think it's funny when people say "you don't need a car that can go that fast" I say "I can go just as fast in your car" of course to me, goin fast isn't the kicker it's gettin there fast.

my mom always bitches at me for all the money I spend on my car, and says that I need to get a new hobby or I am focusing on the wrong thing.
