should I put it back?

I removed my air silencer as I said some time last week, and now im wondering if I should put it back. I had to drive to work in pouring rain and the whole time all I could think about was.... damn, I hope this aint bad... I took the WHOLE THING off. not just the tube. should I put it back?

I ran for years with a conical filter and without an air box. Never had a problem.
