I have a 93 turbo and while driving just yesterday I pushed in the clutch and about put my foot through the floor board. There was no resistance at all. The car sould shift fine. but the pedel would just sit on the floor. After I grabbed it back off the floor to the normal position it would do it again. All of the sudden it is back to normal with out doing anything to it. I have had a Master or slave cylinder go out on me before on a different car. The pedal felt as if that was the problem, but this comes and goes. Very strange. Is the pedal spring loaded and getting stuck or is this the first indication of the slave or master going out. I need some help. any suggestions

The pedal is spring loaded, but if it is sticking to the floor that is a good indication the master cylinder is going on you.

im not sure on the 93 mr2 but most slave cyllinders can be bleed. Make sure its full of fluid and bleed it like you would brakes.

Well I got a quote for about $400 to replace both the slave and master cylinder. $150 was the quote for parts included in the above price. Does anyone know if I can get these cheaper and is this a time consuming process. this is the last thing I feel like dropping $400 on.

It took my mechanic less than 1 1/2 hours to do the Master cylinder.
