Okay, I'm wondering how come things on eBay are so cheap even when they say that it's brand new? For example:
eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7933115075&category=33659
Bomz: http://www.bomzracing.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=687
Like supposedly they're the exact same item but I don't get how come one place charge like almost twice as much if it's the same you know? Unless if the one on eBay is just some bite off or something....what do you guys think? Also, do you think that's the whole intake pipe or just the beginning like that Injen one Italian got?

its just whatever the picture shows, read the fine print if there is any...it's the same as selling anything else...there's a retail price and a wholesale price. If it says its authentic then it is, cuz you can sue if it isn't. That's why I always buy on Ebay, never from the company...company = rip off, ebay = good deal.

Its funny that the manufacturers don't run their own shops so that things could be super cheap withought the anonimity of ebay.

Technical_Automan, are you saying that the people from eBay buy it from the manufacturer at wholesale price, mark it up a little, then sell it to make a profit whereas the manufacturer sells at retail? Uh....how can the manufacturer compete then?

A) because the manufacturer is still pulling a profit when they sell them wholesale
B) becuase there are still stupid people who buy directly from them at retail price without shopping around.
I mean it's the same as tirerack.com
I buy my sumitomos for $133 each....I tried 15 tire shops around here, nobody could get them cheaper than $200. But people don't shop around or online, and simply go to the tire shop out of convience and pay more...
I mean, even this site...with all the people we have here that help diagnose problems and offer affordable solutions. Many people don't know about this site and take their cars to a dealership and pay them $70 to give their 'professional' diagnosis.

That and most manufactures dont want to deal with the public. They would rather just repeat sell to venders/resellers and have them worry about.

Wait, so you're saying that they rack up the price to drive customers away? Hmm....weird but okay. LOL I'm getting a crash course in manufacturing retail thingy here. Hehe

No rock up the price, they decide on an MSRP, at which they sell the product. Most places will sell at that price, but some people say screw it and sell it for a lot less. But from a manufactuing standpoint, if your making a product, wouldnt you just rather make a product and sell it over and over to the same group of people so you dont have to worry about someone ripping you off, or bitching to you, or all the other crap that goes on.
