when accelerating, surges??

Ok, my aurora is having a small problem. When taking off from a dead stop, for a split second, it feels like it doesn't have any power... then it surges. It isn't extremely noticeable. I am just dramatising it so I can explain it over a forum. Most people probably wouldn't notice it. But I do. What would cause that hesitation when accelerating from a dead stop? Granted, it has 160,000 miles on it and that is probably part of the problem. But there has to be a reason.

Fuel Filter would be my first guess. Then I would guess spark plugs (gapped corectly?) and then wires.

check fuel pressure, also, and LOTS of dead start hesitations can be blamed to bad vacuum lines somewhere.
