99 Malibu: #2 and #5 radio buttons don't light up

The #2 and #5 radio buttons don't light up on my factory radio/cd/tape unit. Is this one bulb or 2? How do I access them to replace them? Thanks in advance.

My gosh... I had same problem... but not just 2 and 5 buttons. My friend have same radio on her GMC jimmy and she have same problem....
The GM has changed the audio from 2000 model.
By the way, you have to change complete circuit board for the face plate lighting.(LED) It cost about $200, mine was covered by extend warranty.

Yes - I have the same problem. I just guess where the buttons are at night - its not worth $200 right now.

I have a '98 Malibu with 3 & 6 not shining.
Aren't the LED's replacable on the PCB?

I have had this same problem, only my #1 and #2 buttons weren't working, I fixed it by buying a cd player, and installing an amazing stereo system ;)

Well, the 2 and 5 are the only buttons working (as far as lighting) goes. I know Chevy knew this problem was extant!
