I got my lude in May, and since i have had 2 radiator hoses go, not sure if its the same one or not. Any ideas why this is happening? Is there after market hoses that are better quality and more realiable? This is really starting to piss me off, 200$ down the drain. Stupid ass cheap hosing.... anyone else with a prelude face this problem? Is it a sign of anything bad to happen?? ANYTHING WOULD HELP THANKS!!

Maybe bad thermostat? Does your engine run hot?

it runs a half tick above halfway on the temp gauge... im driving and notice that its overheating... pull over, pop the hood... its steaming a little bit and something was leaking out, i checked what it was, and it felt and smelled like water... steaming stopped after a minute or so, i was a mile from my friends apartment, drove it there... brought it to a place this morning, and it never overheated, even though it was freezing here in NY last night and i only drove about few miles to the place and when i got there and put it in park, the idling started going up or down, this may have been due to lost water or coolent?... but a similar situation like this happened a few months back and it was a radiator hose that became soft and weak

i wouldn't just shove a new hose on, I'd flush the system, and put a new waterpump on as well.. especially if your incidences are like a month a part... only a few things could break down a hose that quick - temp/chemical/chaffing - and i'd bet it has something to do with temp.

I thought you had a lude before when i posted, i'm not really sure of your car/setup cuz your profile says accord? - I'm hazarding a guess cuz i'm CAN myself, but i'd imagine around 60 bones... - if you install it yourself kind thing.

yea, i heard labor is most of the cost of the water pump and timing belt cause of its location... the guy called me back and told me it was a hose from my intake manifold to the radiator i believe, carrying water/anti freeze, chargin me for a new hose and a coolent flush and fill... 130$ im happy, hoping this isnt a reacurring thing!!
