JDM rear deck lid with LED painting

If anybodys intresested I bought a red rear wing with the LED tail light. So I sanded it, primered it, and painted just some pics. I still have to color sand it to make it shinne more. But Ill get some pics with it on the car once I get bolts for it. Let me know if ya like it.

3 coats of honda matched met. blue paint (yes I had the gas door off to get the paint matched Only $18 a spray can)

man, I've got to get me one of those for my '89 Si. Those look a thousand times better than a big aftermarket aluminum weathervane spoiler...

How much did it run you? Is it going to be a simple install?

I paid 80 shipped (took 3 weeks to get from LA Im in Fresno? focken lagger) for this one off ebay but the guy listed it wrong and nobody else bid on it. (helps to look for typos in ebay lists) There is just a little piece that has to be cut off on the rear sides but other than that its a drop on and plug in the light harness and your good to go. Oh and yes I pulled the led assy out before I painted it for those of you wondering.

Im actully taking the one thats stock and getting a mold to be able to put a saturn LED assy. If it turns out good I may sell them with light included. Since the LED is cheap at the J/Y and there are a ton of Saturns in there. And the fiberglass and resin Ill be using is free.

One more of the color match from my gas door on the bottom and the rear wing on the top.

Looks a little green but its not its the camera at night in the garage.

listen Its auto paint they just stuck in a focken can. when I get rich like you Ill buy the guns. But its hella easier to do it this way then to buy $100 worth of paint to do a little job.

Don't cut off the side tabs - you need to remove the rubber around the rear window where they go (that's how Honda mounted them).

BTW - you MUST (!!!!!) use adhesive to attatch the lower part to the glass or the plastic that holds the four bolts in place will snap and the whole thing will break away.

Honda used double sided velcro - screw that! Get a good dob of the polyeurothane that they use to attach body kits and use that.

I speak from experience - 2 of the bolt tabs snapped on my SiR. :( The spoiler is now attached to the boot and rear window with 4 dobs of polyeurothane.

Setanta mine had allready been cut :(. As far as the glue goes as I put it on I saw what you are talking about what I did is used body kit double sided tape. Its the good 2" 3M stuff.

Cool mate - just check it regularly - that's what I used when the velcro came off and snapped the mounts... it didn't hold long either.

Its held in by 3 screws.

Why not just get an led bulb for the third break light and be down. I know it wouldn't look as good as the jdm one but iti'll look cool.

Where did you get that paint for only $18 a can? The NAPA dealers around here want $35 a can.

I have a PPG dealer here in town that doesnt charge a matching fee like most of the other paint places.

GTA I got the 3M double sided tape the next time your here will hook it up.

Looks nice. I wish I could find a duckbill style for a 4th gen. I've seen them but I can never find where to get one.

Ok for anybody that wants one at the time of this post it is at $45 on ebay. It is listed wrong kinda you would never find it unless you look in the wrong place. But oh well for all you that said you cant ever find one I did it for you hehe. Good luck guys.

There easy to find, but those wont stay cheep for long. And why do you say nobody will find them?

did not say nobody will find then but a few said they could never find them. So I posted a couple off ebay. Track those I bet they dont go over $100.
