Okay..I want a new car and am thinking about a normal lancer since the EVO is WAY out of my price range..but it only has 120 HP so thats my big drawback..I know there's gonna be mods and stuff coming out to better it with but come on 120 HP??? The Saturn I have now is more powerful than that. Just wondering what people thought of this..should I get the car? I'm thinking of either a Lancer, a Dodge Avenger, honda civic, or grand prix..but i really would like to get a lancer but that stupid 120 HP...

I would recommend the new civic si if you want power. The lancer really isn't all that great. There are some kits coming out to make it look like a VII though, so that might be cool. Ricey, but cool.

I've looked up the new honda civic..115 HP...no power at all. And how much is this kit gonna be, how much does it cost? Also, if I got a Lancer OZ Rally 2002..if i modded it all up, how much HP could I get it up to??

...I Don't think you looked up specs on the SI. the si pushes like, 160...But anyways, I've seen some kits online, I don't have the URL, I just remember nobody giving prices. wish I could help you more.

Yea I looked up the civic SI..sure it has 160 HP but it's UGLY AS HELL. Ahhhhh Mits, why couldn't you add a lil more HP to the lancer....they should've put at LEAST 145 or 150 hp in it.

no the lancer oz edition is half the price and half the car of the evo version... the latter is certainly not worthy. check march2002 motor trend direct comparo pg.98&99. basically the us spec lancer that we have now is an utter discrace to the name. i consider it an insult to my intelligence(sp :D ) that they tease us by putting the lancer name on a p.o.s. 120hp 16year/old girls car. :angryfire

Oh yea I agree..the Oz is a disgrace..sure I could buy it and put mod it all out, putting the EVO body kit on..but honestly I don't know jack about adding turbo & all that stuff by myself, so I'd have to pay thousands of dollars for the labor, and I'd end up putting just as much mney into it as I would the normal EVO. I think starting on this day I'm gonna take ALL my extra money and put it in savings for the EVO...I'm gonna do whatever I can to make extra money (legally!! ;) ). I will have one. It will be mine. You bet your ass.

well, I look at ugly cars this way. Can you see the car when you are driving it? The civic SI might be butt-ugly, but when a lancer revvs on you at a light, you'll be glad you have it.

umm....heh okay I don't agree with that at all. If your paralyzed and can't look down, would you still wear ugly 70's style pants just cause you can't look down to see them?...sure I'd be glad my car was more powerful than the car revving up next to me, but I'd still know that my car looks like a um fish or something....just cause your blind does that mean you marry Barbera Streisand or the ugliest girl in school?? I say wait until the EVO comes out.....has the looks AND the power..what more could you ask for.

Iam sorry but I wouldn't throw my money away on the U.S. "Lancer" but its your money but I don't thinks its a car that you should buy. All the Lancer is, is a Mirage with a little bigger engine and a differnt body.

yes scobel, thats a good point, but if those 70s pants made you run faster than anybody, wouldn't that give you an added incentive to wear them? And on the evo point, well...duh. Of course youre going to want an evo over a civic si. He wasn't asking about the evo though. Comparing an SI to an evo is like comparing ugly 70s style pants that make you run really fast to titanium bionic implants that look really cool, and let you run at the speed of sound. I was not saying the Si was as fast as an evo. I would ask you to kick me in the eye if I did say that.

haha..when my friend wanted to get an X Box (x box sucks anyways), he went around asking EVERYBODY he knew and even strangers on the street, for a buck or 2. He didn't quite get all the money but he made 60 bucks doing this! I could do that.....but i'd have to ask 30,000 people O.o

i would buy one over a civic, corolla, malibu, beetle, ~ golf....maybe
that's my 2 cents no tip required

bro, i have had a few cars before the OZ and for the price, i love the OZ, i think the handling is great, and adding just a rear sway bar and a strut bar makes a great improvement also.....plus the 120 hp feels more like 140 or 150 hp in second at times and i only have intake and exhaust.....what i mean to say is that it feels more powerful then it really is and it gets great gas milage.......if those cars are your choices, go with the OZ and if you spend 900 on tein SS coilovers and 3800 on intercooled RRM turbo kit then your already able to take down WRX's and kill GT mustangs through the twisties......i honestly think go with the OZ, theres so much to do to the car that youll be stoked when you take 120hp and beef it up to take on 250hp cars. and no one can argue with me on this cause the RRM turbo has proven to take on stock WRX's and type R's.
