Before you do that, have you done a tuneup and checked the timing?

Always tackle the normal maintanence before you start into more complicated repairs.

No, but fouled plugs, lack of a tuneup, retarded timing will definitely cause a rich burn.

Ok, so the tuneup is not recent.

What was included in the tuneup?

Have you checked the air filter?

Have you even pulled the plugs and looked at them?

Have you even taken the plugs out yet to check them?
Were they carboned up?
Were they gapped Properly?
Was the air filter changed?

Have you even touched the truck yet?

Ok, so you took the plugs out, what did they look like were they black with carbon, aka carboned up?

Did you actually take them out or was your father the one that did it.

If they were gapped properly, what was the gap set to?

Yes, a clogged air filter will richen the air fuel mixture seeing the engine will not be getting enough air hence more fuel and running rich.

I was kinda in a rush so could not look at the plugs, it was not very easy to look at them their kidna hidden :D . do u know what they could have adjusted to make it run rich besides that stuff he said that he messed with some thing to make it run better and it messed up the air fuel mixture do u now what they could have messed with?

Ask the person that adjusted it.

for christ sakes man, can you actually go out and check the plugs and find out what actually was done before you go flopping a carb on it.

Stop sitting behind a computer trying to fix the problem, GO OUT AND WORK ON YOUR TRUCK.

You can't find a fix when you don't even know the cause.

Now get off your ass, turn off the computer, grab the tools and GO!
