Fastest Mustang ever built

I think the late 60's era Mustangs with the "cobra-jet" engine was the fastest Mustang ever built from the factory.....Not to sure on its power but i think it had around 300-350HP from a 400+CI quad-barrel carbaureter set-up....The 80's era Mustangs were unbelievably fast too(140+HP from a 5.0 V8 engine was pretty insane...

I'm going to put my money on the Saleen SR Mustang. I believe they can get close to 220 but I'm not sure. I do know they can hit 200 though.

In the 60s era I'm going with the Shelby GT-500 with the 427. From what I heard, nothing during that time could touch them.

what about the gt 500 super snake its the big brother of the gt 500

i dunno if it counts but a company called unique performace makes a shelby mustang gt 500 replica called the gt 500 super snake. its got a 427 with a supercharger on it getting 725 HP

1997 TT Saleen Mustang.. 1,000+ hp.. 200 mph in 5th gear.. well above 200mph in 6th gear.
