Making some improvements on my 79 Cammy

i have a 79 Camaro with a 84 350 out of a pickup...............i want to piull some more power out of the motor....i was thinking of puting some old heads of a chevrolet 302.........i was weondering if this was a good idea...i plan on getting them redone/ported and polished. could use soem info on what this will do for performance. thanks

i was told a 350 with 305 heads would be a real screamer cause of the high compression, but i dont know about the 302 heads, but id say that they may be the same effect.
