Recently my speedometer went out (went all the way around and got stuck on the peg) after the battery was jumped. When I took it to the dealership they said that it would not be covered under the extended warranty because the battery caused the problem. I saw another person had the exact same experience with their speedometer on their 2002 Chrysler T&C Van. If anyone else has had this problem can you tell me about it and how it was settled? I do not understand why this would happen and why they did not want to cover it when I had no control over the situation. The battery light never came on nor any other lights.
Thanks!
Thanks!

that is garbage it should still be under warranty unless it's over 36000 miles , i would get ahold of a dist. manager and run it up the line .
try running cluster diags and see if that does anything , see below .
you can try to run the cluster diags, maybe that will straighten it out .
igniton switch off, depress the trip odometer reset button unti "Sof" and a number (software version #) appears in the odometer window then release the button. If a fault code is present the cluster will display when done in the odometer display . when done the cluster will display "end" in the display . Do this procedure and see if this helps , if not you probably have to make a trip to the dealer to have them reset it with a ODB II scantool . let us know if it helps at all . Makes you long for the old days when you didn't have everything run by computer , I think in some ways in autos we have made a giant step backwards with certain functions by sticking them thru a computer .
