Drive train hesitation

Hi everyone -
I recently noticed this problem with mt 1999 Silverado LS 4WD 4.8 engine and 25000 miles. From a full stop, when I give it gas to go, the engine revs like it should but it takes a split second for the drive train to move the vehicle foreward. This dosen't seem to happen when the truck is moving nor does it seem to happen when I'm gentle on the accelerator. 4WD is in 2HI when this occurs [I don't know if this happens in 4WD] Does anyone know what could be causing this?

The torque management system... Its a computer controlled acceleration, that helps protect the drive train components from abuse. The only way I know around it is reprogramming the PCM. Hypertech and superchip will not make this modification. www.nelsonperformance.com will, for about $375.

I've noticed the same thing on my '04 Silverado on a few different occasions. So is this normal?

yep, normal. Most everyone with this system can't powerbrake the truck either. The truck will rev to approx. 2000 RPM and hold there. It sucks a big fat one!

yea i noticed after going from a 1994 to a 2003 model, it was doing that same thing. i guess its good on the snow or rain.
