Si wheels in Winter?

I'm getting new tires soon, but am debating on either getting straight Winters on the steelies or all-seasons on the Si ones. Are the 15x7 Si's too wide for snow? I can only afford tires for one set, so what do you guys recommend?

myself I run winter *blizzaks* on steelies not good looking but works better then allseasons imo

The skinnier the better I've always been told. You want your tires and wheel to cut through the snow not float on top of it.

I run my Si wheels with 195/55x15" Nokian Hakkapelittas. I might go with 14s on my 89 Civic Si and 185/65x14" Nokians. Or even 175/75x14".

I use 185/65 14 tires for the winter. It makes it A LOT more fun if the rear tires are bald and the e-brake is applied.

We normally install Blizzaks at the shop.

I'd take function over looks. It's only for winter :)

it's up to you, man, depends on how bad your winters are.

I'm planning on living on my steelies for this winter, and when spring comes I'm going to get a set of performance tires on a set of alloy rims. Winters are enough of a pain around here to make it worth the extra cost of a set of winter-only tires.

Wheel covers look much better than ghetto steelies IMO. As a matter a fact we just swapped snow tires on a BMW 540i sport today. Took the lovely BBS wheels off for some steelies and WHEEL COVERS, on a BMW:grinyes:. Like CivicSi said it's only for winter.

lol i think i am going to get some spinner wheel covers for my steelies this year. Was going to get them last year, but I ended up paying out the ass for steelies and studded tires. I ended up paying a little over $400 even with trade in for my old civics winter rims and studs.

I ususlly run 4 studded snow on my teg for the winter, 195/60/14 (stock rims). I'll tell ya without them my car goes nowwhere up here. I already went off the road about a week ago because I haven't put the snow tires on yet, my allseasons couldn't even handle a 1/4 inch of snow in this friggen car.
