Alright, my friend is about to get a fourth Generation Civic Hatchback, and we're doing a poll to see what people think should go in there. We have about $2000-$3000 to spend on the whole deal, so any and all suggestions are welcome on where to find an engine for it. Thanks.

I know nothing about US prices but (as I think I've said thousands of times :) ) I'd go B18 with turbo every time. Otherwise ZC with turbo.

I'd say go with a b16. 3g's isn't enough for a complete swap for the 4th gen. If u guys gonna install the b16 urself.. u'll have about 1000-1200 left over. :)

Yall don't listen to Josh... he doesn't know that I'm doing all the planning for my brothers new car (My brother is the friend he speaks of)...
Personally I think my bro should go with a ZC and turbo set up, but he's dead set on a B16A.
I already got quoted $2,500 for the full swap.

I say go Ls-Vtec, not every body has it and if set-up right can get 200hp with no mods yet!!! that better than a Type-R. I don't know how reliable it is but i'd say go Ls-Vtec and turbo, if tuned right I think 300+ HP is possible at 8-10 Pounds!!! IMO

get an ls and put it in your self w/ some one whos done swaps before, of course. that way you dont have to mess w/ vtec.
my swap costed 1500 and i used the left over money to buy my bolt ons.
i think you have to buy custom mounts from hasports.

I would go with a zc only because it would be pretty easy but would still make your car scoot. THe b18A1 will pump 130-140...its gonna require a kit. The zc just bolts right in. The b16A will be even more rewarding(160 hp) but will also require a kit and is gonna cost you a lot.
