s-10/sonoma front body component

I have a '97 s-10 ext. cab pickup. I was wondering if i could take the front body component/grille area from a '97 sonoma and replace my existing s-10 front body component. On the '97 s-10 it has a bar going across the front with a chevy emblem in the center. In a sonoma front component, there is no bar and is more of an open grille and better looking. Is it possible to put this particular part on an s-10 when it really is a sonoma part?

im not 100% positive but i dont see why not, it may not bolt right up, but if you have some skill in fabracation im sure you could do it no problem

i have no skill in fabrication. I could see there being different places for the bolts. '97 S-10 and sonoma have look almost identical and i suppose it would just be a matter of attaching bolt brackets to fit a sonoma front body component

figgure out how its mounted (weather its bolted or pressurized on there like the int.) if its bolts im sure you could do it, if its those damn clips you would have to measure out where they are and mesure up to what you wanted to go to? does that make sence?

yeah that makes sense. I hope its bolted. I'll have to just find out now. I wanted to make sure that it would possibly fit so that i wasn't wasting my time. i appreciate the help

no problem, and the beauty with bolts, if it doesnt line up just rite, get out the handy dandy drill and find something that wont leak, get a good alighnment (so it looks good) and have at it

damn straight!! thanks buddy. Hey I am also thinking of purchasing a new set of rims. What size would you go for. I have a 2 inch drop in the front and three in the back. Also i am looking somthing that looks good and isn't flashy i.e. chrome and not too expensive.

you can go up to 20" (on the 98 any ways) befour you have to c- notch it, but im guessing your looken for something modist (16 or so right?) so just look at local tire/wheel stores or a place like e bay, most will be chrome or polished, but like me, sand the hell out of the stock ones and if you can paint, load a 2 qt gun and spray them either a flat black or the color of your vehical, its not flashy but if you do it right it is unique and different

not sure where your from, but if your up north (me, Michigan) those stock rims come in handy arround winter time, just coat the summer ones in oil and put the stocks back on, keeps the salt from oxidizing the chrome

do a search and check out bell tire, you can put your truck on and a cheep demo to give you a kina of what it will look like with your truck and color

If you want nice rims for cheap, get them off of ebay.

Look at my truck, ebay rubber and metal for you and it looks great.
