Problems after recall

I took my 99 Cavy 2.2L into the dealer and had the ignition recall done. I bought the car new, never had any probs with the electical up to this point. I ran around town for a few hours after the work was done. When I went out to the car to leave I turned the key all lights came on, the fuel pump energized, but nothing from the starter. I got under the hood and wiggled the wires on the grey relay that they added for the recall, and it started. I also am getting my battery light popping on and off all the time. All my lights dim and come back to norm all the time. When I am trying to start The car is having a very hard time and the starter grinds. (It never did any of this before the recall) My check engine light came on tonight now too. The recall was done a week ago. I and the alt and battery tested tonight both came back with great numbers. the alt is 8 months old and not a rebuilt, and the battery is 1 month old acording to the manufacuter date on it. The volts were in the 13 range. The only thing that seemed odd to me was the amps were ranging from -0.2 thru +0.2 during the tests. I know that the alt is an 105 amp rated. The diode pattern came back normal. Any ideas on why this mess keeps getting bigger? I am taking it back to the dealer very soon at thier cost. Is this a possesed alt?

The alt amps out put will be low if the battery is fully charged. The reading you got sounds to me like the test cables where not on correct.
Was there a load test do while running ??

It was load tested while running and not running. I have good news for my Cavy. This morning while I was trying to start the car, I started looking over thier work. I found a nut on the starter that is loose. I tightened it up and it runs like a dream again. I guess Mr Goodwrench didn't work on my Cavy. LOL All those probs from a loose nut. :sly: :screwy:

Most car problems are caused by a loose nut behind the wheel. This change is refreshing. :slap:

so a nut was loose on your starter from GM or because since it is a 99 it rattled loose?

The dealer performed the ignition thermal curcits recall and didn't tighten it back down.
