Brake lights go one by themselves

I recently sold my '93 Villager to a lady I know and she tells me that the brake lights are coming on all by themselves while the vehicle is turned off. The lights stay on long enough to drain the battery. What's going on? I didn't have this happen to me ever in the two years I owned the vehicle. Typical that it happens when I sell the van to someone else.
