they probably used the 4wd from a wagon or a crv

i would hate to take my poor lil 4-door offroad, unless i got some nice muddin tires and some sort of lift kit lol (haha, lift kit opposite of most lowering kits people buy). I believe it can be done, jus transfer the parts out of a wagon, but i think it might be a lot of work.

the wagon parts and the crv parts are really weak, doing much to the motor and putting resisitance on the tires would kill the transfer case quick.

that's a pretty good site with brochures, etc :P

i wouldn't mind having a 4wd, and it would be good for people who live in snow and ice if you drive your honda in those harsh conditions. I still wouldn't take mine offroad though. I think the 4wd components on that car couldn't take much harassment

I may not be correct on this, so some one tell me if they know otherwise. The 4wd on 88-91 civics only put 10% of power to the back wheels, and thats only under certain conditions. CRV 4wd would prob be more money than it worth because of how weak it is and with hardly any/no aftermarket support to beef it up.

I dont think they had the technology to only put 10% of power to the back wheels, newer stuff that does that (traction controle stuff that takes power away from certain wheels) if highly highly electronic.

Maybe it was the crv that does that, I dont remember

yeah the reason honda 4wd is rare, is because it's weak. me and my bro both thought about doin it to our civics, but found out the sad truth. y they don't make an eclipse awd comparible car, i don't know  . wish they would, sumthin to compete w/ the evos, Sti's, and SRT-4s. If honda applied themselves there, they would own. maybe one day

If it's the one I think it is - it's the RT sedan - not the shuttle 4door hatch. It came out in JDM-land as a factory AWD. There's one at the local wreckers here - unregistered. Runs a ZC.

Sounds like a decent rally mobile...
