1998 Ram 1500 Auto Door Lock problem

Has anyone run into a problem with the factory installed keyless entry not working? Both sets of remotes will sometimes open the doors and sometimes not. I have replaced the batteries in the remotes and that does not solve the problem. Thoughts?

There's another post here on it somewhere (sorry don't know exactly where) that I think addresses your problem.

If I remember correctly, the vehicle may not recognize your keyfobs anymore, and needs to be told that they're the ones to operate the vehicle. Check your owners manual for the procedure, it was something like sit inside the vehicle and start it, then hit some sequence on the remotes. Something like that.
