I got a 93 Astro with 4.3 and auto. Here's the story. The engine was cutting out sometimes. Now it will crank over but does not start. Also
there are no headlights, dome light, cig. lighter, radio and horn. These should have power all the time. The dash instruments light up. Windows and door locks work. Any ideas where to look. Does anybody know where to find a wiring diagram online?
Thanks for your help and input.
Rudy.

The Haynes manual has a good wiring diagram of different circuits.
You may have 2 problems, with the lights and not starting,
the light problem is probably a bad fuse or connection.
but the not starting could be fuseable link, if you think it is electrical they are hard to find if you don't where they hide them.

I can fix this one..... U will need a test light. There r 4 fuseable links behind the battery. Test each one. I think the second from the right is the one u want. It may look fine, as the fuse did not blow. U need to pull the battery and unplug the plug with 4 wires on the fire wall. Most likely one of the pins will be burnt. If u can not replace the pin (if it is melted) cut the fuse link (orange wire) from plug and run it to the nut under the red cap above plug. Thus taking that pin out of the equation. I found four or 5 post on this when mine went. This sounds like alot to do. Took me like 10 minutes, after two days of testing every wire.

I have the exact same problem. No head lights, dome light, radio etc. And the fuel pump isn't pumping gas. Thought it was a strange coincidence that it all happened at once.
Van just cranks and no fuel is being injected.
It left me sitting and I had to have it towed to Pep Boys of all places for diagnostic. Haven't heard back from them yet.
Given the exact same symptoms how sure are you that it's a fuseable link?
Meaning if Pep Boy calls telling me I need A, B and C should I just say "no thanks" and then try the above?

Yep, they fixed it. Was ready the next morning. Although i got reamed for 180 bucks. (90 for NO Start Diagnosis and the rest for the per hour rate). Wish I'd read this thread BEFORE I handed it over to them. Ah, well. Live and Learn.
yes it was the fuseable link. Not that I know that they are and where they are I'll know to check them next time.
Thanks for the info.
