Why is the 240SX so hard to find?

I'm from Maryland and I have been having a hard time finding a 240SX for under $7000. I want to get a car to play with that isn't that expensive. I wanted a 240, manual, with less than 100k on it and it is imposible to find. I was looking for the last gen they brought out, even looked for the gen before.

I might just start looking at the Integra again. Why are people asking so much for a 240?

240's aren't that hard to find. s14's (especially those with kouki headlights) are definitly a lot more expensive, 1 because they didn't import as many of them, and 2 because they're more saught after. If you are looking an s13 with under 100,000 miles, good luck. I don't know why, but all the s13's i've looked at have high mileage...just makes the sr/rb/ca swap more justifiable.

uhh...S13's are about 10~15 years old already... that COULD be the explanation of high mileage and relatively low prices... lolz.

240's are on-demand w/ the so-called drift scene sweeping the US. hondas are more for petite drag racing. Also the layout of the car makes 240's a lil' pricey compared to similar models that are FF.

just dont worry bout the mileage, after you get the car just look around for another ka24de with low miles for a few hundred dollers, make sure you get one that has good chassis and everything but the mileage, then you got yourself a sweet car!

Another aproach (might be cheaper) is to find a 240 thats not in maryland....then have it shipped to you, i barrely ever see 240's up in 7k unless they are like super new/condition.....

I recently purchased a 1995 240sx with only 95,000 miles and for only $4600. So I don't really see why you're having a problem finding one for under $7,000. I do realize that the 97-98 (Kouki) style is more desirable, but the only difference is the front end, and you can always do a conversion if you want to sink a little cash in it in the long run.

Damn.....under $7000...I'm getting mine for $1880-$2000. That sux...I've heard that they are expensive in other places in the US but damn....$7000. Then again....you guys are looking for s15's. Mines a 13.

got my 93 for 3000 the only ones that are expensive are 97 and 98 for the most part but yes the car is in demand right now so people can make hem more expensive because there are not many 240's and there is a lot of demand simple economics shows the price will go up

Also try looking for them on ebay. I'm personally trying to find a 240sx s14, preferrably with a blown engine, but good chasis for under $2000. I'm guessing that I might be able to find one better locally. Right now is probably not the best time to buy them. Maybe in March, April, May it would be much easier to find them.
