HI
I have been working on this car for a while and now that I got it to start the engine starts fine but after like 5 sec the whole thing goes back and forth. Could this be a bad mount or a timing thing? plz help

quad 4? shaking real bad, could be because its only running on 2 cylinders, had a simular problem with mine, bad (new) coil housing (if its a quad 4), test for spark first, cyl 1&4 on one coil, cyl 2&3 on other coil, coil housing is easy to check, check resistance from plug wire to where the coil mounts (even new ones can be bad). check spark first, if your getting no spark from 2 wires on the same coil it could be the coil.

I have a 93 3300 GT and my engine was shaking the same way. Also had a creek when I would put it in reverse. The main motor mount by the coolant reservoir was worn (hard to tell that the rubber boot is shot until you pull it out). Also, have someone sit in the car and put it in drive and give it a bit of gas while holding it with the brake. Observe the mount just behind the right front wheel. If that mount is gone it will move quite a bit. If you have never done the mounts, you can bet both are shot. On the main mount by the coolant reservoir, you can buy the boot individually from an auto parts store. If you buy the mount from the dealer, they sell you the whoe assembly and it will cost you 3x as much.

Did you also change the Transmission mount?

Well, what was it GTO Loova? These guys gave you some good feedback, and you didn't follow up to let any of us watchers know what it was. Common man, don't leave us hangin!!!

I'm betting on Miss Fire. 2 Cylinders sounds like a shaker to me.

He needs to clarify if it is only shaking at idle or it is driving rough as well. A bad coil, ignition module, wire or plug will cause the car to run like crap especially under acceleration.
