Not many mr2 people like the veilside. Most love the TRD 2000GT and alot are beginning to get the new border kit.

I really love the TRD 2000GT kit, but I decided against it, since I drive my car everyday and wouldn't want to risk damaging it, not to mention it costs a lot too. So instead, I just got a Sard front bar. I think it looks pretty nice and the good part of it is that I haven't seen any other MR2's with it. I prefer to mix and match, so I'm getting Veilside side skirts and custom rear corners in the near future. That's my opinion.

popular kits are Toms, greddy/gracer, bomex, widebody, kaminari, aeroware, ab flug... border is wanted, but not available in the states (you have to order from japan and that = $$$). every mr2 owner i know really don't like the looks of the veilside kit.

check out this site for a ton of mr2 body kits: http://www.mr-2.com/English/default.htm

94mr2turbo, do you have a better pic of the front of your car?

There's a new bodykit for the MR2 that was just made in Australia. It's made by Fibremotive, and is known as the "krypton" MR2. It won the "best bodykit" trophy at the Sydney Auto Salon.

You can see it at:
http://www.fibremotive.com/gallery/mr2/mr2.htm

bluetwo, I don't have any better pics of my car at the moment. I'll post some up once I get a new scanner, they'll also show my new clear side indicators (not that ugly orange stuff). I'd love to see what your car looks like, so can you post up some pics and a list of mods too?

i'm keeping the stock look... i thought about getting a body kit, but it just looks so nice stock... the only exterior treatments i have are painted side moldings/rocker panels/front lip; clear corners/solid side moldings; and planning on 94+ tails/wing, and maybe some 16" rims. i really want to keep that sleeper look

Veilside is FRIGGIN HIDIOUS!!!!

Kaminari, Aeroware, Border, Blitz, TRD, TOMs, Bomex, Ab Flug, those are about the best, not in that order.

Don't forget Sard, the pictures of it on the net don't do it justice (they make it look UGLY). Looks MUCH better in real life (only the front bar)!

Around how much are MR2's in America?

Luckily I bought mine off my brother, for a ridiculous $13,500 AUD ($6,750 US).

G'Day all,

I have found the TRD kit to be quite awesome and I was thinking that I really want one. Now reading this forum I have seen the Border Racing bodykit and I am quite interested in that too. I would like to see more pics of it, does anyone have any apart fom the link to a pic in one of the previous threads?

Does anyone know good contacts in AUS for bodykits and suppliers?

Group buys etc...

Cheers.

I live in Sydney too (Prospect to be exact). I'd recommend going to Fibremotive, my friend works there. I heard that the TRD 2000GT kit costs $7000 painted and fitted around here, I've only seen one, and that was in Cabramatta. I'd strongly recommend going to BD4s too, they don't necessarily sell kits but they sell heaps of other stuff. Where in Sydney are you and what are the details on your MR2?

Hey dude,

I have a 92 Mr2 turbo and I live up on the Nth Shore of Sydney.

Since we spoke last I have discovered that carmate do a replica TRD kit for $2000.00. I do not know the quality of this kit, howewver I am going to investigate this further as that definately kills the $12000 retail on the TRD kit.

I have actually tried to contact fibremotive however they don't seem to want my business as they are not interested in replying to my emails or calls.

As for BD4's, I have not yet approached them as I would expect their prices to be too high, don't get me wrong they do good work, and have so on my car, but you seem to pay for it. For example, they wanted $1200 for the tail light conversion on my 92 turbo but I can get the lights from a Jap wrecker for $300 including the centre panel and then get a mate to paint it up for $50 and be set for under $400. That is 1/3 of the price of BD4's
