alright. so my cat conv is making all sorts of nice sounds when i rev up, a nice rattling sound. i figure the cars got 140k on it so its probably shot. so this is what im thinking...gutting it out, replacing the exhaust (since all that sh1t probly blew into it) with a dual exhaust muffler and running dual 2.5" pipes from it. i dont think it would be a good idea to run bigger pipes because i figure with a gutted cat it would get to loud. the last thing i want is to sound like a friggin ricer comin down the block. anyways, i was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on this little idea of mine before i did. hopefully someone did it and it sounds good. well let me know either way cause im open for ideas. thanks

i have a 93 3.4 Camaro, and what i did was just cut the convertor off.. pry isnt gonna be a good idea if you live in a state with emissions testing..as far as gutting it out goes, that works, but it'd pry be a little nicer to get a high flow cat, and i'd go with a nice cat-back system, magnaflow is what i have and it sounds great.. alot of people actually think its an 8 till i pop the hood.. and the magnaflow system is 2.5" back until the outlet pipe.. which is 3.5" but it looks nice even.. i can get a pic up for ya if you want..
