Honda Civic type R 97-00

I am interested to import a honda from japan. First choice would probably be the integra however insurance is hard as hell therefore thought of the 97-00 Civic typeR and try to pass it as a normal 16vtec. However cannot find info about the car anywhere. Performance wise is it any match for the integra? Tuning potential?

Wont have much luck passig it off as a normal civic when the steering wheel is on the opposite side of the car...I dont know what all you have to go through in the states because I live in the Bahamas...My car came from Japan...here its just a matter of finding a trusted japanese car dealership online and ordering the car...

I do not live in the US. Where I live we drive on the same side as the Japs do. Thats one fast civic Congats

My brother has a business in the caribbeans buying and selling JDM cars from japanese auctions. And I contacted wallacelab.com to see if i can bring Civic Type R's and other JDM cars into the states, and the info i recieved from them said that the only cars you can bring into the states are cars that are not sold in the states. they said they maybe able to bring in civic type R's and other models but they would need one for a crash test and all that BS.
