1998 CV Joint replacement problem???

I just changed the passenger side axle.

The problem is the spline that sticks out the trans is wobbly. I know it should not do this and want to change it but what is the part called???

Is it a dealer part or would autozone or advance auto have it???

I guess it would be called the stub shaft. Is it hard to fix/replace???

Pretty much it is your stub shaft that's going crazy on you. Unfortunately to fix it, you gotta take out the entire transmission, then once you have that out, take out the torque converter just to be able to pull out the stub shaft. Only the dealer or a junkyard might have that. If they ask what you have, you have the 42LE transmission or called A606.

i went to the dealer and they printed out the stub shaft and related components. Im going to try and replace the bearing that the shaft goes through.

Since the shaft goes through the bearing any meat that was lost on the shaft I will reweld and grind off. Done this particular before and lasted years on a sunbird. I have scans I should post them...
