Rebuilding Bumper AGAIN!!

Well, this is like the 3rd time I've had to rebuild my bumper. I rear ended a lady a few months ago - doing like 5mph - didn't do any damage to her car, just cracked my bumper in like 3 places and broke off one of the back corners. Anyways, since I also haven't been able to find any bumper lights that fit the holes that were made for them, I'm just going to shave them and finish fiberglassing the bumper back together. he he

Here's a pic of it so far -

I never will understand wide mouth body kits and no intercoolers, but it looks like your pretty good at body work  I suck at it :(

It takes a lot of freaking patience. I'm working on an intercooler - B18C1 Turbo - It's one of my 100's of projects - he he

Ya - but if I bought another one - I'd have to cut it apart and modify it to fit - so I figured why spend the money, when I can just modify this one AGAIN - he he

i have that same front bumper! it's cracked in many places, and i don't know the first thing about fixing them. i've seen pics of people building speaker boxes and other items with some kinda fiberglass stuff you apply with a brush. i'll bet it's the same idea here. any idea where to get it? home depot, maybe?

you can get fiberglass stuff all over - fred meyer, home depot, paint stores - it's not too hard -

hey what did u modify on ur bumper to make it fit flush with the fenders? Did u just extend the sides? Bc I want an R34 front for my car which is also a 4g4d. As u can see in my profile I need a new bumper.

ya - all I did was just extend the sides back about 1.5 inches or so - fits perfect after that.

howd u extend them? wiremesh with fiberglass? And do u have any pics of the progress of it?

ya - on the 4g4d website - go to the howto section - should be the top one I believe. That's my bumper. http://4g4d.hopto.org

It's going slow - with me spending all my fiberglassing motivation to get my yellow car back to par, I haven't been working on the fiberglass door panels for the project at all. But I have a couple friends here who are trying to get me to start working on it again - One of them says I can have it done by Summer - but that all depends on money - he he Most of the work I have to do to it is fiberglass, so once that is done, I basically just have to get the engine in and it's pretty much ready.

All my pictures are here - http://project88lx.hopto.org

I haven't done anything to it since then, which is really lazy of me, but now that I have a new 2 car garage, I should be starting some more work on it once I finish my front bumper.

Updated Pictures - Got around to sanding most of it down today to find high and low spots, then started filling a couple of the low spots.

Here is the corner I had to rebuild -

on the convertable man you should make it all one solid body and put 3 rows of seats

4G4D Store
11-13-2004, 12:05 AM
3 rows?? I don't want to knock out the trunk - the frame would be way to weak.

Jetts

brace it

Nah, I want to keep it pretty close to stock, just want to make it a convertible. I actually want to make it a duplicate of my other 4dr, just convertible.
