I have a brand new 2004 RSX type S. I need some inputs on what I should do to modify this car. If there is someone who would be nice enough to tell me what parts I should get. About $$ I can get but I just want some decent modification.. but later on willing to get a turbo charge kit. Help me get my car set up for this. Thanks

what do you plan to do with it? Do you want to drag, auto-x, or shows?

If you want to go turbo, Cybernation has a great kit and Greddy has an awesome kit complete with pre-programmed ecu, larger injectors, aluminum piping, downpipe and heat shields. You'll definitely want to look into an intercooler, fuel rail, oil pump, clutch and maybe even internal upgrades like Toda or something to get the best performance results and ensure that your motor lasts and can handle the boost safely. All in all pretty expensive if you really want to do it right. I'm not even taking into account any suspension mods, either.

The S responds REALLY well to non-FI mods, and you can squeeze some good hp and performance out of basic bolt-ons for way less money- ie. CAI or SRI, race or 4-2-1 header, Hondata, maybe an exhaust (although not really necessary) and some susp. upgrades/ short shifter.

Cybernations finally came out with their supercharger? Cool. It all sounds so easy on paper, but you will need to shell out some cash for these, so be prepared for it to take a while.

EDIT: My bad, I was thinking of CompTech.

Huh? Cybernations, GReddy, RevHard, HKS, and HyTech make RSX turbo kits. Jackson Racing (and soon Comptech) make S/C's, and Toda and HyTech make NA kits.

If you're getting a turbo i'd just focus on suspension and then get a stage 1 or 2 (or 3 if you really want) Cybernations turbo, or maybe the HKS when it comes out soon. A cheap and good mod is the JDM Rear Sway, also looks at short shifters, springs, and save up for clutch and turbo.

Well the CN kit comes with the stuff you need, but be prepared for a future clutch purchase, and you'll probably want tires and suspension mods.....

Kits range between around $2500 or so for the Greddy T517Z to close to $3800 for the RevHard.

I would'nt get anything motor related until you decide what kit you're going to get. Then upgrade the clutch for sure. If you have cash left over go for internals and upgrades to the turbo (if they weren't included/offered with the kit).

You might want to concentrate on suspension and stability until you choose a kit. Coilovers or springs, sways and braces and definitely a set of better tires.

Don't make me scratch your Clay Aiken CDS :p

And if you want to really go extreme, its 9K plus install for the CN Stage 3 :D

Intake wise I've been told the Injen Cold air is great quality for the rsx...I've also heard the AEM makes a short ram and CAI that are both good...But I've heard depending on the model car in Canada certain intakes are Illegal...my buddies 91 Civics CAI is illegal...or so he told me

Headers? I dont know DC sports or something, thats all I can think of

Theres no reason for me to research these mods, because I cant afford them

Alright,

Springs- Eibach Pro Kit around $250 or Neuspeed for $200. You'd be better off getting a good Tein or HKS Hipermax coilover kit- but they are way more money.

Strut Bar- DC Sports Titanium, Comptech or Hotchkis will run $200-250. (Think about sways, too).

Intake- Decide whether you want better low-end or high-end power. Injen CAI for low, AEM SRI for high. Wouldn't bother with the V2 or Comptech Icebox or any of that stuff...

Header- Jackson Race header for $550 or Comptech 4-2-1 stainless for around $500 if the RH worries you (in respect to legality).

These are just some of my personal preferences. There are plenty of good products to be had for less (or much more) that I'm sure you could be happy with. Hope this helps.

Keep in kind headers and intake are wasted money if you're getting a turbo.
