I'm looking into buying a used camaro with about $8000. Only problem is seems there are many different model types with different body styles and engines. Also it seems that with each different year there is a different model. My question is what is the difference between these models, I know some have a V8 and others a V6 but theres got to be more. Any help would be great, Thnx

for 8,000 you could find a 96-98 z28.
there is an SS with is a Z28 with mods and a hood scoop.
the RS which now basically a v6 car, has good performance, but a v8 is still better.

the biggest difference is 3rd vs. 4th gen.. assumming ur lookin for a newer model. 3rd go from 82-92 and 4th r 1993-2002. if you go 4th 93-97 have lt1 engines and 98+ have ls1. z28 have the v8. ss are the top model. thats the basicacs if u look on the internet u can find more

Don't be sorry man.......those are the best Camaros out there in point of view. If you can get your hands on a 69 Z28....go for it. I've seen them for around $8,000 (that is as cheap as you're going to get them...if you're lucky). And no I'm not crazy...I'm just optimist!!!!!! :naughty:

73 Z-28 is the best way to go in my books, or a 69 would be nice

Speaking of which, there's a 69 camaro 327 for $2000 near here, I'm expecting it to be junk but I might get it and restore it...maybe drop a big block in it, cus I mean that's what old's all about.
