Hello all! This is a very silly question, but are your blazer/s10's more peppy when in Drive rather than Overdrive? I'd never believe that it would make a difference from a standstill, but my drive gear is peppier than my Overdrive from the 0-20mph range (and obviously the 45+mph range because it doesn't have to downshift). But it's like it has a more torque in first gear. Is this a problem?

To the best of my very limited knowledge, having the selector in Drive will make no difference until after third gear. After wich time you will simply run at higher rpms to achive the same speed as if you were in Over drive.
The intent being when towing something you need the torque more than the speed.

My $.02

I know, but after never towing anything and never driving in "D" for years I can most def. feel a difference from recent experience.

All mental, there is no difference in the torque or power with first and second with the tranny in Drive.

no diff, BUT, if you put it in '1' for the startout, it applies 2 different clutches for more holding power.

When I go into "4 low" I get extreme torque. This low low gear isn't ever used in normal drive or drive, right? What exactly does shifting into "2" do?

4lo is offroad only.

2 is used for condition where you need lower torque and it starts out in second gear instead of first.
