95 continental brake problem

On my 95 continental there is a hose that runs from the top of the engine to the rear upper wall of the engine compartment. Just under the air intake vents. This hose connects to a T which has tubes running from the T to the sides of the car. One of the tubes broke and there was a loud hissing sound when the car was turned on.

Now the brakes do not work properly. They car will stop if brake is really stepped on. Did this break do something to the power steering. Does something have to be recharged, etc once the break is fixed.

If so does anyone know if this can be done by me or is it something a shop would need to do.

Air leak. Sounds like air from vacum reservior on pass. side this vacum goes to the brake boost that is located next to master cylinder this would explain brakes hard to apply. Go to local auto store take piece of broken vacum line and reattach, ringo7

you broke the main vacuum line that feeds the brake booster.if the t is broke go to advance or some such and get a new t the rubber vacuum hose is a slip fit but the hard lines are a pain ,get some hose that will fit tightly over them and then fit the hose to the t.use small hose clamps to snug them up.the plastic plate over the t is a pain ,what i did was to nibble it back with shears until i could get to it with no problem.tie wrap the lines neatly together when done.you will now have full braking again.
i also used a brass t so it will never break again.
