95 s-10 blazer, the power mirrors do not work. I checked the fuse and is okay. Any suggestions? is there a seperate power source for the mirrors?
Thanks

Pull out your driver's side switch panel from your door. It literally pops up with no tools if you pry it up carefully with your fingers. Disassemble and clean/replace the power mirror switch. They just simply rot to pieces on our trucks. Though, be ready to have the same problem again 6 months down the road. I replaced mine, and it died all too quickly again. Removing the panel and looking at the back-side of the switch showed that it had corroded to blue/green dust all over again. It was not worth the expense of locating a switch to have it happen again like this, IMO. I live with it now, popping the mirrors up/down, etc. with a gentle push until it "clicks" into a new position.

I took the panel off and saw no sign of corrosion. Checked power going into the switch and it was okay then I put the tester on various wires coming out of the switch and moved the switch around and had power going out. Wondering if there is a plug disconnected downstream of the switch somewhere. My 97 C1500's mirrors work fine with 168,000 miles sofar.

Probably a wire is off of the mirror motor.

Ghettofabulous? One day I will have to tell you about my coat hanger and duct tape front-end fix for a Subaru to get you home off of the Rally trail when you tear something off. ;)

But yeah, something's wrong between the switch and the mirror motor if you have output power off of the switch. You will have to get out your 7mm sockets or a phillips screwdriver to get your door interior trim off, and the replacement nylon anchors to put it back together when you are done...

Dissecting the door is easy enough. Look to make sure that the connectors between the harness and the mirror motor are secure and clean. The harness itself will be anchored to the interior of the door to one side of your power window motor and below the mirror's mount on the window pillar. Getting to mine was a pain and nothing short of using a pair of needle nose pliers and some gentle pressure got it out for a quick clean-up and re-seating. Go slow, and you can figure it out without the aid of a book. ;)
