'99 Grand Caravan Starter R&R

First time ever working on a Mopar product, much less a 3.3L van. Suspect starter needs R&R; @79K miles. Symptoms of solenoid activating (getting juice), but starter not spinning. Hit the key several times, and starter engages. Battery is new. Questions regarding location of and simplicity of starter replacement. Haven't been under the van yet, but suspecting starter is located on front of motor, under exhaust manifold.
1. Is the starter where I think it is, front of motor, bolted into flywheel bell housing, under exhaust manifold (can't see from top)?
2. Does starter come out from the bottom? Looks like there's a significant bracket/motor mount in the way ... is this an issue?
3. Any tricks or "gotchyas"?
4. For 3.3L motor & accessories, I need metric or SAE?
Thanks in advance.

Starter is fairly easy to remove and replace. Mine was doing the same , had to turn the key over two or three times to get it to start. I was going to buy a new one untill I found out what they cost. So I removed my starter and found out that in side, There is a Large copper ring on the front of the solonoid, and by slightly bending the connection prongs forward and then putting it back to gether, fairly simple, it worked great. That was two yrs ago, and it is still going good. A starter costs about 80.00-100 dollars. Maybe this will work for you. Hope so
