First Race

Ok so I had my first race with the new car, figured I would share...
Alright so im heading out to work, not speeding, just cruising along (I was early), when a Red Integra (didnt notice the badging, definitly wasnt a type-r) comes even with me. It had a fart can, and what looked like a new wing (nothing to gaudy tho). Well these kids pull up along side me and are just laughing to themselves...so im like wtf? I just keep cruising along. We get to a stop light, and we are both even, and I just keep looking ahead.
Next thing the kid starts reving his engine high as hell. Over and Over. I Look over and his passenger is just laughing. Im thinking, why bother? Im going to work anyway. Well he keep reving and the opposite light goes yellow. So im like, these kids will take off and think they beat me, so I mine as well run with them.
Light goes green and they launch, I got some wheel spin off the line (im still learning the new car) and they get about 1.5-2 cars on me from the spin., as soon as I make traction I catch up doing about 50 now. Im pulling really hard at this point, so I end up taking them by 3 car legnths. At this point I was doing about 75, so I double tapped the brakes, and continued to cruise normally. Funny thing is, the kids were not laughing anymore.
Cliff Notes:
Integra kids messing around
They rev at light
I get heavy wheel spin at launch
Catch up and take them by about 3 cars

Good job putting those slow Acura riceboys where they belong. They should stick to racing stock focuses and Jettas.

good job. i used to own a 2001 integra LS so i know they are not that great. try to launch at about 2500 maybe as high as 3000 if you really know how to feather. hopefully that will help you out somewhat. now get some gears on that mutha. (yeah, i need to get mine as well)

I don't know why they were laughing, those integras aren't that fast. Punk kids that think just 'cause it's an acura they can whoop anything with their vtec

Punk kids
Funny you said that cause the driver had dyed hair, and the passenger looked like one of those people who just love to look different.

im not saying a gt wont beat a vtec integra, but i doubt it was a gsr if he lost 2 carlengths off the line and proceeded to take them by 3 car lengths up to only 75, maybe if the race was up to 100-120... but it would take more than 75 mph to gain 5 lengths in a gt on a gsr

also, what does your car trap at highrev?

I don't think anyone said it was a GSR. I'm sure it would have been quite harder against a GSR, and I don't know how he'd do against a type R.
Are only the Type R and GSR vtec?

Like I said, im not sure it what the badging was, and I instantly said It wasnt a Type R, but it quite possible was a GSR. I havnt run my car at a track, so I am not sure of it's trap. All it has done to it is a K&N filter, and flowmaster mufflers (previous owner). I exadurate little with his launch, I had wheelspin, and in trying to correct it asap, I wasnt that attentive on thier position. But it seemed to be a good pop, maybe more like 1-1.5. However, I did pull on him hard once I caught traction, plus I was manual, I can only assume he was, but im not sure. And where I said I caught up at 50, I was pulling him at that point...So in all honesty, with a launch like that, it probally was a base model.

I wouldn't call it overrated, but I think a lot of RICERS overrate it to impress people, as if it's some type of turbo that only exists in Hondas, when there are actually a lot of other makes with the same concept but a different name.

Type S nailed it on the head... the concept of v-tech is good, and acceleration increase is well noticed, but is by far not the best things to happen to cars since the horse.
