Stereo is shorting out. Need help

For some weird reason my stereo seems to short out every time I step on the brake. I can't figure it out. Any body have any ideas?

i bet when you stop the momentum of the car stopping makes some wire move or something and causing a short.. u must check every wire now!! have fun!! j/k good luck though

Actually, I don't think it's the brake anymore. I was driving the car home from the Mall and the entire electrical system seems to short out. All the lights in the interior and even the headlight dim very badly. So bad that I couldn't even see the road. Can a short do that? Or could it be the voltage regulator. Also I think it's a short cause even the temp. gauge was jumping up and down. :confused:
