Should you get your clutch replaced & your flywheel machined every so many miles? Just like getting an oil change every so many miles....does this apply the same way to the clutch & flywheel? I just don't know... :uhoh:

nisco> This is my first standard transmission vehicle. So...I assume that when my clutch does start to slip, I'll know what to expect? I know what a new clutch put in feels like...it was smooth as silk and it was almost hard to get used to again. I'm guessing I'll get that same knocking/vibrating noise I used to have before I got the new clutch put in...???

if it is hard to get into gears(all of them, not just one), or if it feels like its tacking a long time to get the wheels spinning with the engine, then you need a new clutch.
if you are having problem with getting into specific gears, then the problem is most likely the synchros for those gears.
