Problem
--------
Car won't idle.
Recently replaced the water pump and clutch cable.

Now , when car starts, you have to keep your foot on the gas to keep it revving (which it seems to do quite smoothly).

When you take your foot off the gas, the revs just drop and the car stalls.

On a couple of occasions, it has managed to keep going, but that is the exception.

Warning Lights
Interestingly, the oil and battery warning lights (both red), often stay on when you start the car (normally, these are on prior to startingm, then go off once car is started.

I have noticed that when I rev the car past about 3000rpm, these two lights go off. as the revs drop , they come back on again.

When working on the car , I had to remove the plugs from a few sensors , but was careful to wire it all back together.

* I DON'T think this is the ECU related stalling problem which seems to be an ECU program fault, mentioned in otjher threads. I too have had this happen occasionally, but this problem is definately one which has developed since I did the work on the car *

ANY help / thoughts / ideas - would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Mark H
