if a s15 sr20det makes 250hp with a turbocharger?? so how much does the turbocharger make and how much hp does a sr20de make??

i'm not sure of the numbers
but i would think that the extra power comes from the engine as the S15 has variable valve timing on both intake and exhuast valves
the S14 is only on the intake valves
i'm not 100% sure on this information but i'm pretty confident in it
the sr engines use 7psi boost stock and 7psi is still 7psi even if its a bigger turbo

SR20DE makes 160bhp.... so i suppose the 0.7bar makes 90bhp to get 250bhp?? I'm driving a S15 currently...... nice car to own!! lack of torque at high rev above 6000rpm

It's e same engine as the S14, but turbo is diff... it's using a bearing turbo unlike S14.

Err... not too sure on this, but don think they have much difference like the cams etc... mayb pulley design? S15 radiator is smaller than S14... which is something negative. Engine alone, not to my knowledge, except for the turbo.....

Variable Valve Timing? It aint the same, dude.

I would be happy to knw if it's true.... but the review at Autospeed states this "One reason for the instant driving positives is the engine. These days it has a relatively pedestrian on-paper spec- two-step variable valve timing on one cam, single turbo, two-litre DOHC, 147kW at 6400 rpm and 265 Nm at 4800 rpm. At 8.5:1, even the compression ratio isn't particularly high for a modern turbo engine, with boost also fairly restrained with a peak factory spec of 10.6 psi." which means only intake cam with 2 stage variable timing...

Australia version... not jdm, but e engine is e same except it's down tune to lower octane... thus only 200bhp.

I can't prove you wrong..... but i would be abit disappointed if it had twin variable valve cams cos it's not that powerful at high rev.... you will find the torque to drop after 5800rpm and after 6000rpm not much torque left.... seems loosing power unless change to a bigger turbo or high lift cams.........

the s15 is a magnificent car. i would get one but it would kinda be a waste. whats the point u cant drive it on streets in usa im not sure if u can use it in drifting compitions in usa (not professinaly) i might just buy and build a s15 conversion with a sr20det and make it a drift car and use it as a daily driver also

btw these two sites never state that it has two variable valve cams too.... and S14 Qs SR20DE and S15 type S SR20DE both also produce 160bhp..... so I don't think there is any major diff on the two engine SR20DE...so does SR20DET.

Not necessarily. Bigger turbo make more horsepower because they flow more air. Thats why T25s aren't very efficient past 250hp or whatever the number is. That is as much air as they can flow. Put a T3/T04E or B on there that flows 45lbs/hr and all the sudden 7psi makes more power. If your statement was true, then nobody would ever upgrade turbos.lol

Ok, retard, I will type slowly because you seem to need to read slowly. In North America, there is the 240SX and the front wheel drive 200SX (hot sentra). Right hand drive countries have the rear wheel drive 200SX and Silvia. S13, S14 and S15 is the chassis code that applies to all cars.
Prior statements don't include the S12.

You must be from OUTSIDE the USA.
When people in Japan refer to an S13 they are refering to a Silvia. What is refered to as an S13 in the States is a 240SX.
The S13 240SX and the S14 240SX are BOTH in the states and legal. The Silvia was NEVER legal there, but the sheet metal is there in another fashion. S15s are not legal in any form there.

for one thing the S14 SR20DET and the S15 SR20DET both use a T-28 ballbaring turbos and the VVT is the same. the diff. is that the S15 has a bigger injector than the S14, more fuel=more power.second 0.7bar dose not equal 7psi.

Actually, the S14 motor also uses a ball-bearing turbo like the S15. I've also heard that the S15 motor is fairly difficult to install in an S13 or S14 chassis, because the transmission mounts are different and you will need a new differential to suit the S15 motor.
