OK i got a pretty big dilema here...for you math junkies out here i got a question
Ok i got a 97 V6 Mustang 3.8L..it has its stock HP and Torque rating of 150HP and 215 lb/pounds of torque... and it wieghs aprox 3100 pounds
How much HP would i need to make to this slow mo-fo run 0-60 times in a somewhat respectable range of 8 seconds...and While were at it how much HP would i need to run a dream-like time of under 6-seconds
Oh god i cant help myself here... how much more HP does a 03-04 Hummer H2 need to go 0-60 in under 6 secs and high 12's in the qt/mile
sorry for asking it its been bugging me forever

I'm sorry, but I don't find 0-60 times in the 8's respectable. I would lose the 3.8L,invest in a new crossmember and convert that puppy to a 5.0. It would be impossible to tell you what you currently need due to several variables but mainly gearing and traction. Drop a 4.XX gear into your 8.8" rear end. Convert to a Tremec 5 Speed, and build a 300-350Hp 5.0. Should put you in the 5's for 0-60 =)

for an H2 to run 12's it woukd probably need about 650 hp

^ How did you come up with that number?

nobody can know for sure exactly how much power you'd need, but I'm sure 650 hp is possible on the stock block in the H2.
