Wassup everyone. Well my mom has a 2000 alero and the other night she decided she wanted to do some 4x4 crap and ran off in a ditch and busted a plastic piece behind the front bumper and a fog light. Anyone know what the plastic piece is and where i can get it. Also is it hard to fix if anyone has had to do it. Thanks.

The black plastic piece about 3 inches wide and between 2-3 feet long?

I know what you're talking about. I busted mine up a few months ago. I believe that GM offers it in three sections: right side, middle, and left side. I broke one of the side pieces on mine and they wanted about $50 for parts and labor. You can pick up the parts at any GM Goodwrench dealer and replace them yourself. I believe that the only thing they need to do is be snaped into place with the snaps that come with the part.

Jeremy's right, the dealer is your only source. I had to replace all of mine because of the same thing. The dealer will have an illustration you can look at to choose which pieces you need.
The fog light comes as an assembly complete with the mounting bracket and will run you about $80 for an original style replacement.

You guys are referring to the FEP (Front End Panel). It keeps the headlights alligned and good stuff like that. I busted mine rearending some biotch. Don't buy one from the dealer, cause they are rediculously overpriced (I think mine was like 200-ish $$$). You should be able to find one somewhere else (if not from a junkyard at least) - just gotta hunt around. Find one somewhere else and you'll be glad later.

I'm not sure exactly what lilbrandon is referring to, but I think he is referring to the four black plastic pieces behind and under the front end cap (panel) (what GM calls a bumper cover) These pieces attach to the bottom of the FEP or bumper cover > The FEP is not what I'm talking about.
These plastic pieces are what I'm referring to and all together they would run about $60 from the dealer. There's a fifth piece (called an "air deflector") that mounts directly under the radiator and is used to deflect air into the radiator. It runs about $60 all by itself, because it actually supports the radiator in addition to deflect air into it. I was unable to find these pieces anywhere but the dealer. If you have a good junk yard network in your area, that would be a good place to try.
Good luck.
