I am by no means a car expert, but i do know a little. A few weeks ago I was driving in the rain, and hit a puddle...the car died immediatly and i coasted to a safe stop. I Try to start it again, it cranks but doesnt startr...wait about 45 minutes, starts great and runs all the way home (no more puddles). Now whenever it rain I have to wait until it is dry, but even then i have to push the accelerator a few times and keep cranking it 5 or 6 times for about 10 seconds a each time. I have to push the gas pedal down quite a few times and keep cranking it to get it to turn over...Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is a 95 geo prizm with 190,000 miles (And yes, getting a new car is out of the question). Thanks in advance

Probably got water in your cap or distributor or something...unless you have a cold air intake
Perhaps a short somewhere?

Check your distributor, your ignition coil, and make sure you dont have exposed wires rubbing against the firewall.

Had the same problem with my blazer.

It could be any or all of those things. So be sure to check them all even if the first one you find is the problem.

How low did you lower your car.My 2000 metro does thats some times. It becase the water and dirt cloge up the intercooler or radiador thats in your car.Water and dirt mix with the fluid thats runing through the radiador.I don't know if this your problem,I hop this helps. This always happens to lowered cars.
