Any car can be fast.

It's not really fair to compare an N/A Honda to a boosted DSM.

Think about it, the N/A DSM are only 150 hp.. that's not much. If you boost a Honda it can be just as fast as a Mitsubishi.

As already said, there's lots of Hondas that can probably beat DSMs and vice versa.

Last friday, for instance, I watched a Prelude walk on a boosted Talon.. multiple times.

Shit, I've seen a civic walk all over a lightly modded Z06. You can't compare one car to another in terms of speed (unless we're talking stock vs. stock), and anyone that does is just fucking stupid.

there are different engines in the N/A Eclipses and the turboed eclipses just so you know Vtec so you cant go off of the horsepower that the 420A engine puts out compaird to a 4g63

I disagree.. I'd say there's an equal proportion of riced out civics to riced out DSMs..

I think it's simply that there are more people with civics so it is more noticable.

I saw a rediculous eclipse down at that same race.. bodykit, pointless roof scoop, the most gawdy altezzas I've ever seen, projectors, racing seats, aftermarket steering wheel, a few decals on the rear windows..

I asked to look under the hood.. and what do I see.. intake, headers, and exhaust.. it was a GS, btw.

My ex GF had a Civic Si with a vortech supercharger and a healthy mod list that would romp on many DSMs all days. Shit, she took me out in the first round of an import even at Rockingham Dragway in NC... Just because its easier to make power in a DSM doesnt mean poeple in Hondas arent doing it. ;)

No offense 0 Hero, but your car is a mess, and a lot slower than it should be. You can't even tune it with no DSMlink cable ;) I would try to show a little more respect, in hopes that you might earn some for yourself in return.

I've noticed that most of the riced out eclipse's are gs or rs's. I havent seen too many riced out GST's or GSX's tho. But lets keep the hating to a minimal, lets not go into other peoples forums and talk shit. Who cares if integra owner think they can beat eclipse. A large portion of my good friends like Hondas, and plenty of them are fast by our standards, and faster than my car by far. I'd love to address an issue/question but I don't see one here. If the thread goes too far, and especially if some of the Integra owners o*HeR() pissed off come over, I'll close the thread.

So, what are we talkin' about? Stock for stock? well, a stock DSM is pretty damn slow. I would cry if I had to line up against 95 GSXracer in a stock DSM. Same way I wouldn't want to race a DSM in a civic.

Want to bash VTEC, the most copied technological breakthrough in the automotive industry? I'm up for anything! :)

i would say 99% of the eclipses i see here are not modded. i would guess that most are also N/T. now i would give to say that a full 1/3 of the civic's i see are semi-modded [from an exterior glance] and every one of them that has lined up on me has gotten schmoked. now one car that is making a sic appearance that i see on a semi consistent basis is the s13-14-15's around. now there is a nice import tuner. and those guy's are putting some power down. i'm probably like 50-50 on kills for those. and they are all sleepers/under construction cars. they are also the only other cars i see/hear with a BOV too. other than the eratic STi [few, but around]. but then there are a couple of EVO's running full race stickers with the sound and looks to back them up [both the ones i see all the time got RRE all over them too, so when i say 'full race stickers' i mean that they are pristine cars with clean looks]

I LOVE the gas mileage on civics. If any of you think I'm being sarcastic, I'm not. Those are probably the most reliable cars ive driven, and Honda makes damn good cars that can be driven to the ground and never give up. Seen some very fast ones too, but too much effort put in IMO.

im sorry but when i first came in i was playing around and u probally know more then ur boys that dsm's are not slow at all unless they are bone stock

you are right, there are some dsm's that are not slow and some are, same with honda's. like that talon i raced. you where right, it was the biggest pos i have ever seen. and it did have a turbo. not sure how much boost? but he said 20psi? and still beat it. the dam car is probably dead now? oh well.

Ok, i remember when the big fight was American cars versus imports, now you guys are fighting about honda and DSM? I have a DSM and I love it but i also would be very happy to modify a prelude or integra. The way i see it i am just happy that my car is better than american cars.

well, personaly i have a 96 accord EX-R 5-speed coupe. In my personal opinion its pretty quick. i have the basics, CAT, cat-back, headers. They defenetly made a noticeable difference.

BUT, every car thats worth anything that i've raced has blown my doors off. Sure i can beat just about any stock civic, neon, cav, or non-boosted eclipse. I am so sick of getting whooped by spec-v's, RSX's, s-10's, integras, boosted DSM's, and the like. And a lot of these cars beating me are bone stock!!

So i'm in the process of looking for a 2g GST or GSX, because stock they'd be able to blow those cars away. I'd much rather get a car with a stock turbo, then put one on a N/A car. when you're running boost, its much easyer to get more power out of it. But my reason its that the car is faster STOCK, so i don't have to do much to it and it's already fast.

So yes you can make any car fast, but it depends on how much you want to do to it. it's much easyer to get a GST/GST and make it faster than try to get some accord and drop in a lude engine, then throw a turbo in just to get the same result as a turbo dsm with $500 of mods.

um no not really there are 2g and 1g's faster then eachother it just depends on the mads and the only reason the 1gs are faster is the wheight but 2g's look alot better
