NEW 3000gt RECORD!

haha, just not the record you were thinking of...
I got ANOTHER flat tire...bringing the total to around 6 or 7 in the past 17months/13,000 miles
My donut is going to have 400 miles on it soon...and that can't be good.
Thank goodness for tirerack.com or I would have already spent over $1200 on just tires. Still a bit annoyed though...as that is $130 I could have used for more hp or beer.

BAD Alignment is the main cause for the first 4...broken glass and a nail have picked up a kill each as well. And todays...my own stupidity.
My tire wasn't sealed properly with the rim, and being lazy, I just kept putting air into it every morning. Well today I was hungover (and I hadn't driven the car at all yesterday, so I'm guessing it was 10 or so psi low) I didn't feel like being out in the cold and pumping it up, so I tried to drive to campus without putting air into it.
I was driving slower and more cautious, made it 75% of the way there...and I heard that familiar noise. So I pulled over and ended up spending more time and energy in the cold than I would have if I had just pumped it up in the first place (or if I had spent the lousy 15 bucks to get it remounted earlier) So it's my own stupidity. I deserved it.

Hehe Well, glad you didn't get into an accident though. :) And um...when you buy your tires online, do you just take it to a tire shop and they just put it on the rim for you or what? And what type of tire or brand or whatever you call it do you usually buy?

Yeah that is exactly what I do...
As far as what I've been using...Sumitomo HTRZ IIs
I think that is what htey are called at least...something like that. Although I've been considering switching to something else to see if I like them more or less. The only reason I'm buying them is that the previous owner had them on the car when I got it...and I didn't have the money to get 4 new tires when any of the flats have occured(only disadvantage of AWD).
I remember starting a thread awhile back called 'tires' or something where quite a few people listed which tires htey use.

To add insult to injury...I'm driving home 15 minutes ago and of course I can't go any faster than 50mph...a stealth ES passes me, followed by a red SL, followed by a stingray vette...and I got left behind like the annoying little brother.
I watched each one go by and was like "you gotta be kidding me...what's next a turbo supra?"

dont let the spare slow you up, my friend had his spare on, and raped a teggy up to 100mph, although i thought he was nuts for racing on his spare. He used his daily driving for a month because he didnt have any money. He also launched on it a couple of times, said it spun out nicely. By time he got a tire to replace it, it looked as bald as a drag slick.

Thats the same one that went flat for me. And as far as racing on the donut...I did it once, while I had it on a year and a half ago on my first flat...raced a bel air up to 70...
